King & Spalding has boosted its combined U.K. and France profits by 50% in the year ending December 2018, the U.S.-headquartered firm's international LLP accounts reveal.

The accounts show that the firm's combined operating profits across the two branches shot up to £24 million last year, from £16 million in 2017.

The international LLP accounts, published at Companies House last week, detail the fortunes of the firm's U.K hub alongside its France branch, which comprises an office in Paris.

The firm's U.K. and French offices' combined revenues also grew 21% from £41.5 million to £50.3 million in 2018, while the combined partnership's profits soared by 54%, with partners sharing £16.1 million of profits in 2018 – up from £10.48 million in 2017.

However, a closer analysis shows that the U.K. outperformed the French offices considerably, with U.K. turnover growing by more than two thirds (36%) to £41.3 million, whereas France saw revenues drop by 19% to £8.9 million during the year.

The accounts further reveal that the firm only added one lawyer to its net partnership across France and the U.K, with the partnership now comprising 33 partners.

The firm also saw its staff costs climb to £9.8 million last year from £9.1 million, while the amount owed to creditors jumped by £3 million to £28 million.

The accounts did not, however, reveal how much the top earner took home in 2018.
