DWF has hired two new partners from international law firms to its new Warsaw office, including a local practice head from Eversheds Sutherland.

Paweł Stykowski joins DWF after just over a year as head of financial services and compliance at Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland, where he was counsel. Prior to that, he worked at insurer Interrisk for nearly four years.

In his new role at DWF, Stykowski will be the country's head of insurance.

DWF has also hired Baker McKenzie banking counsel Tomasz Kaczmarek to its Warsaw team. He has been a lawyer at Baker McKenzie for more than 15 years.

The hires come after DWF paid £3 million ($3.9 million) to U.S. law firm K&L Gates to acquire its Poland office in May, which included 11 partners, 45 lawyers and 31 support staff.

The Warsaw acquisition was DWF's first since it listed on the stock market in March, with the firm expecting its new Warsaw group, formerly known as K&L Gates Jamka, to generate about £7 million ($8.7 million) in revenue in the financial year ending April 30, 2020.

At the time, DWF managing partner and CEO Andrew Leaitherland said in a statement that the move would "strengthen DWF's capabilities in our global sectors of financial services and real estate, among others, and provides further opportunities in technology and energy where our businesses have strong alignment".

In May, CMS Poland recruited nine Dentons banking and finance lawyers for its Warsaw office, including one partner.
