U.S. firm Goodwin Procter has promoted three of its London lawyers to partner as part of its global round.

The three lawyers – private equity lawyer Ravi Chopra, tax lawyer Katie Leah and real estate lawyer Martin Smith – comprise 9% of the 33-strong global round.

Last year, the firm made up just one partner in its London team out of a total of 22.

The majority of the new promotions sit across the firm's U.S. offices. Four of the partners are spread across the firm's bases in continental Europe and Asia.

The promotions follow a spree of London hires for the firm, including six partners from technology rival Taylor Wessing this year.

In August, Goodwin hired technology partner Ali Ramadan to its London office from U.S. rival Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Goodwin's London revenues soared by 58% to hit $66.8 million in 2018, following a year of expansion.
