U.S. firm Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has recruited two senior arbitration lawyers from rival Jones Day to its Paris base.

Partner Michael Buhler has joined Orrick as its international arbitration practice co-leader, while counsel Nicole Dolenz has joined the U.S. firm as a partner.

Bühler joins Orrick after more than 20 years at Jones Day, where he had a stint as co-leader of the firm's international litigation and arbitration practice.

He has particular expertise in the energy and infrastructure sector and has worked on disputes in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, in areas including construction, engineering, industrial and power plants, oil and gas, and food and leisure.

Nicole Dolenz joins Orrick after seven years in Jones Day's Paris office, where she was a counsel. Before working at Jones Day, she spent just over six years as an associate at Baker & McKenzie in New York.

During her career to date, she has represented European and North and South American clients in arbitrations in sectors including oil and gas, nuclear energy, aviation, construction, food and beverages, transport and insurance.

Earlier this year, Orrick ousted its Paris-based Africa practice head Pascal Agboyibor after an internal grievance was filed against him.
