Andersen Global has continued its international expansion with the addition of a new member firm in India, just a week after the professional services giant launched its presence in the Namibian legal market.

The firm first announced its presence in India in May 2018, when it signed a collaboration agreement with legacy Nangia Advisors. The firm now adds Nangia to its offering as a member firm, which has been renamed Nangia Andersen.

Nangia Andersen provides tax accountancy to multinational companies in matters such as tax litigation, cross-border taxation and investment banking. It has more than 350 professionals across the country, including in New Delhi and Mumbai, making it one of the largest firms in India.

The addition follows a string of expansive moves by Andersen Global recently, with the firm announcing earlier this year that it was aiming to have a presence in 100 countries within the next three years.

Earlier this month, the firm entered into a collaboration agreement with Namibian firm Dr Weder, Kauter & Hoveka Inc, following a string of collaboration agreements by the firm in Africa.

Chairman of the new member firm, Rakesh Nangia, said in a statement: "Andersen Global and Nangia Andersen LLP match in terms of values and commitment to transparency, high ethical standards, technical accuracy and quality service to clients.

"We found immediate synergy with the professionals at Andersen Global."

Andersen Global's expansion in India follows the Bar Council of Delhi in May barring the Big Four firms from practising law in India, thereby pausing their expansion across Asia.
