CMS has hired the head of DWF's U.K. pensions practice, Tim Green, as a partner in its North West offices.

Green joined DWF in early 2013 from Hill Dickinson, where he had been an associate for nearly two and a half years. He began his career at Taylor Wessing.

He is one of several departures from DWF lately, and will be based between the firm's Liverpool and Manchester offices.

In September, Kennedys hired six DWF professional liability lawyers, including four partners, to three separate U.K. offices.

Earlier this year, DWF shuttered its first office since it listed. It closed its Milton Keynes office just a month after its debut on the London Stock Exchange.

In September, Kennedys hired six DWF professional liability lawyers, including four partners, to three separate U.K. offices.

Recent pensions mandates for CMS include advising on Rothesay Life's £4.7 billion buyout of the legacy General Electric Company pension scheme from current scheme-holder Telent and the pension trustees. CMS advised Telent and the pension trustees on the terms of that deal.

Last month, CMS consultant and former partner Ashley Smith left the firm to join defined benefits pension company Clara-Pensions – a key CMS client – as its general counsel.

CMS picked up two partners from Pinsent Masons earlier this year, including energy partner Chris McGarvey and employment partner Steven Cochrane.
