Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) tax and private client partner Paul Whitehead has left the firm to join a London boutique – the latest in a string of recent exits from the firm.

Whitehead, who has a background in advising on private client matters and international wealth structuring, is set to join private wealth firm Maurice Turnor Gardner in early 2020, according to a statement by the boutique.

Maurice Turnor Gardner was founded by six Allen & Overy partners a decade ago, following the demerger of the Magic Circle firm's private client department.

For BCLP, Whitehead's exit follows a spate of departures, with head of private client litigation Rupert Ticehurst also departing for Maurice Turnor Gardner last year and structured finance partner Rachel Kelly leaving for McDermott Will & Emery.

Last year, London investment management partner Nicola Hopkins left to join Ashurst's London investment funds practice, after four years at BCLP and its legacy London firm.

Clare Maurice, senior partner at Maurice Turnor Gardner, said in a statement: "Attracting talent like Paul to our firm reflects our strategy to invest and grow our top tier private client practice.

"He has an excellent reputation in our industry and amongst clients, and we are pleased he will become an integral part of the distinctive MTG brand."

Earlier this year, BCLP hired its first post-merger global chief marketing officer in a push to continue its U.S.-U.K. integration efforts.
