Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has promoted one London lawyer to its partnership in its latest promotion round.

Daniel Lloyd, a London-based lawyer in the firm's private funds practice, is one of 15 promotions, which will take effect on January 1, 2020.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Lloyd has been an associate at the firm since 2011. He previously was an associate for four years at Ashurst.

Of the new partners, 11 are U.S.-based: Eli Isak, Benjamin Wells, Peter Vassilev, Matthew Rogers, Julia Kohen, and Sunny Cheong in New York; Crystal Frierson and Malcolm Tuesley in Washington, D.C; Brandan Still and James Hays in Houston; and Robert Guo in Palo Alto.

Three Hong Kong associates have also been promoted: Yi Gao, Jonathan Hwang and Adam Goldberg.

Last year, Simpson Thacher promoted 11 lawyers to its partnership, including one London lawyer.

In recent months, some U.S. firms have snubbed London in their promotion rounds. Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton did not promote any London lawyer to its partnership this year, while White & Case only made up three in London in this year's promotions round, its lowest number in a decade.
