Mayer Brown has promoted three of its London-based lawyers to the partnership in its annual promotions roundup.

In total, 27 lawyers were promoted to the firm's partnership across offices in the U.S., Europe, Brazil and Asia.

The three new London partners are Miriam Bruce, Tim Shepherd and Charles Thain. All appointments will be effective on 1 January 2020.

Bruce first joined the firm's London 14 years ago as an employment lawyer, according to her LinkedIn profile. She advises clients on contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.

Shepherd was previously an associate at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert for six years and joined Mayer Brown in 2010 as a senior associate. He was then promoted of counsel in 2018, he is part of the litigation and dispute resolution practice.

Thain trained at DLA Piper in 2009 and joined Mayer Brown in 2015 as a senior associate in its banking and finance practice. He represents a range of financial institutions, corporates and fintechs in cross-border transactions.

Last year, the firm had promoted four lawyers to its partnership in the U.K.
