London-based law firm Kennedys has hired a litigation partner for its rapidly growing Melbourne office.

Jane Kupsch, who joins the firm from Australian firm Piper Alderman, has expertise in litigation arising from large-scale corporate collapses, regulatory investigations and in a wide range of commercial and shareholder disputes.

"She is a trusted adviser to her clients when litigation is necessary, but she also provides strategic and practical pre-litigation advice to companies and their boards on matters including risk management and insurance," Matt Andrews, managing partner of Kennedys in Australia, said in a statement.

Kennedys' Melbourne office has tripled in size since it opened in late 2017 and now has a headcount of 30, Andrews said.

The firm has also been on an expansion push globally. It has established a number of international offices in recent years, including in MexicoBermuda and Moscow.

Senior associate Lucy Reade has also joined the office from DLA Piper.

DLA Piper did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
