Janita Good, Fieldfisher

Fieldfisher has hired Osborne Clarke head of life sciences and healthcare, Janita Good.

Good, who was a partner at Osborne Clarke for more than 14 years, will take over as head of the life sciences practice at Fieldfisher.

Prior to Osborne Clarke, she was a partner at legacy Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, which merged with Clyde & Co in 2011.

According to Osborne Clarke, patent litigation partner Will James will take over from Good as the firm's U.K. life sciences sector head.

James will work closely with corporate partner Matt Edwards and commercial partner Marcus Vass on delivering the firm's own sector strategy, according to the firm.

In a statement, an Osborne Clarke spokesperson said: "Following a longstanding career at Osborne Clarke, Janita Good decided to leave the firm on November 30.

"She has made a significant contribution to our business and we would like to thank her for all her efforts."

The appointment is the latest high-profile hire by Fieldfisher in recent months. In July, the firm took on a five-lawyer private client team from Linklaters, which included head of trusts Peter Golden.

Earlier in the summer, the firm reported a 17% rise in turnover to £242 million for the 2018-19 financial year – its third successive year of double-digit growth.
