French sports broadcaster Eurosport has replaced its head of legal after its former head quit to join Spanish rival Mediapro.

The French company has appointed its director for legal, rights acquisitions and talents, Erlinda Tabla, as its head of legal and that of its parent company Discovery France.

Tabla joined the company in 2015. According to LinkedIn, Tabla was previously director for legal and business affairs at French television production company Marathon Media. In her new role, Tabla will report to the head of legal for EMEA, Hester Wheeley.

She replaces Vicky Adalbert, who left the broadcaster after six years in November to join Mediapro.

President for Eurosport and global sports rights and marketing solutions Andrew Georgiou said in a statement: "Erlinda has been a tremendous asset to the business in the time she has been with Eurosport and Discovery, and we are delighted she has accepted the opportunity to lead our legal team."

In 2015, Discovery France acquired a controlling interest in Eurosport from TF1. DLA Piper advised Discovery France, while French firm Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier advised TF1.

Elsewhere in in-house moves, Huawei appointed Camille Aromas as its new Philippines-based head of legal last month.
