Milbank has promoted two London-based lawyers to partner this year, compared to just one the previous year.

The duo is being promoted as part of the U.S. firm's 10-strong global promotions round.

Capital markets lawyer Miko Bradford and arbitration lawyer William Charles have made partner, with the promotions coming into effect on January 1. The majority of the new partners are based in New York.

Last year, Milbank promoted only one female partner in the firm's London office.

While some U.S. firms have snubbed their London cohorts this year and handed out fewer promotions in the city, Milbank joins others that have increased their rounds.

Both Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and O'Melveny & Myers promoted more partners in their round last week, following Weil Gotshal & Mangeswhich added four partners last month.

However, other U.S. firms have largely seen decreases in London promotions, with Cleary Gottleib Steen & Hamilton promoting no new partners there. Earlier this year, Milbank reported a 25% hike in its London revenues following a year of several lateral hires, and confirmed plans to expand to a larger London office in 2021.
