Dentons has hired longtime White & Case partner Robert Weber as a partner in its Frankfurt office.
Weber, who worked at White & Case for 21 years, focuses on stock corporation law and related capital markets law. He advises companies on corporate transactions such as transformations, squeeze-outs, acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures and restructurings.
"We are extremely pleased to be able to expand our practice with such a well-known and experienced stock corporation and corporate lawyer and to be able to offer listed companies targeted support, for example, at general meetings and corporate actions," Christof Kautzsch, head of Denton's German and European corporate practice," said in a statement.
Weber's arrival is expected to strengthen Dentons corporate practice in Germany. He will start at the firm in January.
Weber said that, by moving to Dentons, he will be able to combine his knowledge of local markets with the firm's global reach. "Dentons is everywhere. They have a global presence. This broad presence combined with strength in local markets, that is in line with my strategy," he said.
In 2017, White & Case lost another prominent corporate lawyer when partner Markus Stephanblome joined Clifford Chance in Frankfurt.
Dentons has been expanding its presence across Europe, recruiting partners for its office across the continent. It recently added lawyers to its Amsterdam office and has also increased head count in Düsseldorf, Germany, Rome and Milan.
