Top female lawyers at firms and major corporates including Allen & Overy and Coca Cola are to be recognised for their achievements at a new celebratory event next year.

A&O global litigation head Karen Seward leads the honouree list, which will see around 30 of the U.K.'s leading female lawyers honoured at a dinner at Glaziers Hall in London on March 11, 2020. The event follows the inaugural launch this autumn of the Women, Influence & Power in Law U.K. conference.

Employment partner Seward has been at A&O since 2000 and is one of few women to reach the upper echelons within the Magic Circle. She is currently running for the role of managing partner.

Joining her in the list of honourees is Ashurst corporate head Karen Davies, who frequently acts on major financing deals and is was ranked as the U.K.'s top dealmaker earlier this year. In the first half of 2019, she worked on four deals worth £7 billion, putting her top of a table of U.K. corporate partners by value.

Coca Cola general counsel Clare Wardle and EasyJet general counsel Maaike de Bie are among the in-house female lawyers to be honoured, while other private practice lawyers including White & Case London office executive partner Melissa Butler and CMS senior partner Penelope Warne have also made the list.
