Reed Smith has made up three lawyers to partner in London as part of a reduced promotion round, compared to seven lawyers last year.
The three London promotions include finance lawyer Karen Butler, Sophie Goossen in the entertainment and media industry group, Karen Ellison in the energy and natural resources industry group.
The London group is part of a smaller global round compared to last year. The firm has made up 29 lawyers in total, including 23 across its U.S. offices.
A lawyer apiece have also been promoted in the firm's Beijing, Hong Kong and Paris bases.
Meanwhile, Reed Smith has also promoted 35 of its associates to counsel.
Last year, Reed Smith undertook its largest-ever global promotions round, making up a total of 43 lawyers.
The reduced London intake follows a number of U.S. firms decreasing their London promotions, with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton promoting no new partners in its base in the city, and Shearman & Sterling promoting just one of its London lawyers to the partnership.
However, Milbank increased its London promotions, making up two London lawyers compared to just one the previous year.
