Alex Gerbi, Quinn Emanuel

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has appointed a new co-managing partner of its London base.

Taking on the leadership role on January 1, partner Alex Gerbi will run the London office alongside incumbent Ted Greeno.

The news comes as former co-head Sue Prevezer QC steps down from the role, the firm confirmed in a statement.

It is the second time the firm has reshuffled its London leadership in the space of eight months, and comes after the firm made then-co-managing partner Richard East its new London senior partner, with Ted Greeno becoming co-managing partner alongside Sue Prevezer QC.

Prevezer had led the London office alongside East since founding the base in 2008, growing it to a 81-lawyer office with 21 partners. Though she is relinquishing her leadership duties, she will continue as a full-time fee-earner, acting for a client base that includes U.S. telecoms giant Qualcomm.

In a statement, Prevezer said: "I would like to thank everyone in the London office for making the last 11 years such a phenomenal experience and pleasure. It has been an extraordinary journey. I have no doubt the office will be an even bigger success over the next years under Ted and Alex's management, and I will continue enjoying being part of the next chapter.'

Gerbi became one of Quinn's first ever London lateral hires, having joined the firm from legacy firm Olswang in 2010 to bolster its commercial litigation capabilities.
