EY Law, which has expanded in legal markets in Europe and Asia and which last year transferred its legal entity to Brussels from the U.K. because of Brexit, has hired Antoine Druetz as a partner in Belgium.

Druetz joins from KOAN Law Firm, where he led the nonprofit and trade associations group. He will be joined by two associates.

Druetz said he is looking forward to contributing his nonprofit expertise to EY Law's expanding practice. "I am truly convinced that EY Law's multidisciplinary strategy and international network makes it the perfect environment for the team to offer clients excellent services and further develop," he said in a statement.

Peter Suykens, managing partner of EY Law Belgium, said that Druetz and the two associates,  Alix Degrez and Sakine Yilmaz, have excellent reputations and expertise that will bring substantial additional experience to the firm's nonprofit practice.

KOAN Law Firm, based in Brussels and Paris, offers services in intellectual property, data protection and privacy, corporate and tax, employment law, commercial law, litigation, mediation and arbitration, public and administrative law, real estate, criminal law, European and competition law and trade practices. It has seven partners.

EY Law moved its seat to Brussels from the U.K. largely because of Brexit. The transfer of its legal entity took place last February, just over two years after the referendum on leaving the European Union.

Last June, EY reported an 8% increase in global revenues, 20 business acquisitions, including Pangea3 and Riverview Law, and eight new alliance agreements.
