Linklaters has taken on a banking partner from White & Case in its London office.

Colin Chang, who has been a partner at White & Case since 2008, is set to join the Magic Circle firm's London banking practice this month, according to the firm.

Chang represents underwriters, issuers and private equity sponsors in high yield offerings and bridge-to-high yield finance deals in both the European and US markets. He will be relocating from White & Case's Paris office as part of the move.

In a statement, Linklaters global head of banking Davide Mencacci said: ''With Colin on board, we look forward to growing our high yield work in the French and Benelux markets, strengthen our relationships with underwriting banks and financial advisors and grow the London Banking practice."

A spokesperson for White & Case said in a statement: "We can confirm that Paris-based partner Colin Chang has left White & Case. We wish him every success in his future endeavours."

Chang's hire follows other appointments by the Magic Circle firm from U.S rivals last year. In November, the firm hired private equity tax partner Chris Smale from Kirkland & Ellis.

The firm also took on a four-lawyer investment funds team in New York from Schulte Roth & Zabel.

However, Linklaters has also seen several partners exit to U.S. firms. The firm lost M&A partner David Aver-Gee to Weil Gotshal & Manges last year, as well as insurance partner Victoria Sander to Latham & Watkins in March.
