Timiko Cranwell, Budweiser

Budweiser Brewing Group has hired a new director of legal and corporate affairs from French rival Pernod Ricard.

Timiko Cranwell is set to join Budweiser, which belongs to Belgian brewing company Anheuser-Busch InBev, from Pernod Ricard, where she had been head of legal and public affairs of the company's global travel retail arm since 2015.

In her new role, Cranwell will be responsible for driving the company's public affairs, external communications and legal strategy in the U.K.

She began her legal career as an associate at Linklaters' Australian alliance firm Allens and has held a number of in-house roles, including an eight-year stint as general counsel at investment group MBI International & Partners.

Last year, AB InBev turned to Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for advice on the sale of its Australia business to Japanese brewer Asahi Group Holdings for $11.3 billion. Allen & Overy took a role for longtime client Asahi on the transaction.

Elsewhere, Subway Restaurants has hired Miami-based Ilene Kobert, a real estate lawyer and shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, as its new chief legal officer, while private equity firm Campbell Lutyens hired a partner from Proskauer Rose in London to fill its general counsel gap.
