Clyde & Co has entered into an association with local Chilean firm Grasty Quintana Majlis, giving it an on-the-ground presence in the South American country for the first time.

Grasty Quintana Majlis is a 10 partner corporate, commercial, tax, disputes and employment firm which has operated in the Chilean market for three decades.

The association will see the firms collaborate, refer work to one another, and integrate services for existing clients in the region and globally.

In an announcement, Clydes said that key sectors would include insurance, construction and infrastructure, trade and commodities, and natural resources.

In a statement, Clydes senior partner Peter Hirst said: "Chile is one of Latin America's fastest-growing economies and an important market for our core sectors. We are very pleased to partner with a firm that has such a similar client-centric mind-set and ambitious approach."

Clyde & Co has had a presence in Latin America for more than 25-year and now has 13 offices across the Americas including in Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Canada and the U.S.

This is the latest growth in Latin America following the firm's merger with law firm Garza Tello & Asociados in May 2017, through which it opened its first offices in Mexico.

In the past 18 months, Clyde & Co has expanded internationally with presences in Hamburg, Dublin and Bristol.
