Slaughter and May Duo Lead Female Corporate Partner Rankings
Other Magic Circle lawyers were also among the busiest women in EMEA corporate law in 2019, according to the new rankings.

Two Slaughter and May partners have topped the list of female corporate lawyers acting on the highest value of deals in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region during 2019.
Slaughters partners Lisa Wright and Victoria MacDuff came in first and second place respectively in the list, which was compiled by MergerLinks and covers lawyers working in the the corporate M&A, tax and antitrust sectors in the jurisdiction.
Last year, Wright advised Merlin Entertainments, the owner of attractions including Legoland Resorts, Alton Towers and Madame Tussauds, on its £6 billion ($7.6 billion) take-private acquisition by a consortium.
Wright and MacDuff both took roles advising the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Group on its bid for the London Stock Exchange Group at the end of last year.
Wright, who sits in the firm's competition group, worked on three deals last year worth £36.6 billion. MacDuff worked on the same number of deals, worth £32 billion.
Manon Cremers, an Amsterdam-based corporate partner at Benelux firm Stibbe, came third in the ranking, followed by Linklaters partners Sarah Lindley and Jean Lovett in fourth and fifth place.
Macduff also placed third in the overall table for men and women M&A lawyers in the region in 2019. Cravath Swaine & Moore partner Philip Boeckman topped that table, with Slaughters partner Padraig Cronin in second.
Wright, meanwhile, placed second in the ranking for the top antitrust lawyers in EMEA, behind Sullivan & Cromwell's Juan Rodriguez.
Other female London-based lawyers to have made it into the top ten ranking included Linklaters technology, media and telecommunications partner Marly Didizian, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett M&A partner Clare Gaskell, and Clifford Chance pensions partner Clare Hoxey.
Slaughters lawyers also topped the tables for the top finance and tax lawyers in EMEA in 2019, with its financial regulation group head Jan Putnis leading in financing and partner Gareth Miles topping the tax table.
Kirkland & Ellis partner Neel Sachdev came in second in the financing table, while Stibbe partner Jeroen Smits came in second place for tax.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
