Andersen Global has entered into a collaboration agreement with a law firm based in Israel, as it eyes a greater presence in the Middle East.

The agreement with Lipa Meir & Co brings on board more than 80 legal professionals. Led by managing partner Alon Pomeranc, the firm's expertise includes corporate law, energy and infrastructure, and project finance, among other things.

"Our goal is to act as a one-stop-shop for our clients, and the opportunity to collaborate with Andersen Global allows us to do so by giving our clients the resources of a global firm while maintaining the highest of professional standards," Pomeranc said in a statement.

The professional services firm debuted in Israel in 2017 through a collaboration with Tel Aviv-based Beneli Tax Boutique.

Speaking to Law.com International earlier this week, Andersen chairman Mark Vorsatz said he hopes to increase its presence in the region over the next two years, following its collaboration agreement with the law firm Sharp & Beyond, which is based in Ramallah in the West Bank.

Andersen is now in more than 70 countries, with legal services in 61, as it undertakes an aggressive global expansion, including in countries rife with political tension.

The firm is also plotting further European growth. Last year, Vorsatz told Legal Week that he hopes to "add another five countries in Europe" in 2020.
