Latham & Watkins has raided two U.K. firms in a bid to bolster its London corporate tech offering.

Partners Mike Turner and Shing Lo have joined the firm's corporate department from Taylor Wessing and Bird & Bird respectively.

Turner was previously the international head of technology, media and communications at Taylor Wessing, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to joining the firm in 2013 he was a partner and head of digital business at Osborne Clarke.

Lo has been a partner at Bird & Bird since 2016, and previously worked as a senior associate at Herbert Smith Freehills.

In a statement, Latham office managing partner in London, Jay Sadanandan, said: "Further developing our offering to the growing tech economy in Europe is a key strategic focus for the firm."

Corporate tech is becoming an increasingly important area of investment for firms.

Goodwin has led the London charge for firms growing in the area, making several additions to its team in recent years.

Last year it hired a Cambridge based corporate technology and life sciences team from Taylor Wessing. The group addition, including four partners, counted Taylor Wessing's head of U.K. corporate technology Adrian Rainey and life sciences head Malcom Bates.

Taylor Wessing managing partner Shane Gleghorn said in a statement: "Mike has been a strong contributor to our business for the past seven years. We wish him all the best in his new venture."
