CMS has hired two tax partners and two corporate M&A partners in Luxembourg as it announces a new management structure for its Luxembourg office.
One of the new hires, Frédéric Feyten, was previously Dentons' managing partner in Luxembourg. He will now assume the role of managing partner of CMS' Luxembourg office.
The other partners also have joined from Dentons.
The hires follow the recent departure of CMS's head of tax in the Luxembourg office, Bastien Voisin, who left for Goodwin Procter. Goodwin's Luxembourg office launched in October.
The new CMS tax team is led by partners Feyten and Jean-Dominique Morelli. The new corporate M&A partners are Gérard Maitrejean and Pawel Hermeliński.
"Together with every member of the firm, we are designing innovative and technology-driven solutions to stay ahead of the challenges our clients are facing while focusing on key economic sectors, seamlessly covering the fields of law, tax and finance, and compliance with the highest quality standards," Vivian Walry, founding partner of CMS Luxembourg, said in a statement.
Feyten said his teams are pleased to be able to join CMS. "This is a great opportunity for us to build a modern firm and I am already impressed by the commitment of the teams to make this a successful leap," he said.
CMS's Luxembourg office now has 40 lawyers, including eight partners.
The firm said several new hires in other practices, notably in the investment funds team led by partners Aurelien Hollard and Benjamin Bada, will significantly strengthen CMS's presence in Luxembourg. The firm will be organized around four core areas of expertise: corporate M&A, investment funds, banking and finance, and tax.
A representative from Dentons said the firm wishes the four departing attorneys the best in their new roles, adding that the firm remains committed to the Luxembourg market and plans to grow its tax, investment funds, corporate and litigation and employment law practices there in the coming year.
