White & Case has bolstered its Paris office with the hire of two partners from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.

The firm has picked up projects partner Jean-Luc Champy and finance partner Amaury de Feydeau in the French capital.

Champy joined Orrick in 2011 as counsel from Allen & Overy, where he had been for seven years. Meanwhile, de Feydeau has been at Orrick for 13 years having joined the firm as an associate in 2007 from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Both lawyers made partner in 2014.

The pair joined White & Case several months after three of their former Orrick colleagues made the same move in November 2018. The trio included the firm's French M&A and private equity group Saam Golshani, private equity partner Alexis Hojabr and of counsel Guillaume Vitrich.

Denise Diallo, White & Case's executive partner in Paris, said in a statement: "The addition of Jean-Luc and Amaury cements our position in France and internationally, including Francophone Africa, for advising on top tier project finance work. Their practice also provides important synergies with the other strengths of the Paris office, such as M&A and restructuring."

Last month, Linklaters hired Paris-based White & Case banking partner Colin Chang to join its London office.
