Ashurst, Eversheds Sutherland and Clyde & Co are among the firms competing to be named International Law Firm of the Year at the Middle East Legal Awards, which will take place later this year.

HFW, Morgan Lewis & Bockius, Norton Rose Fulbright, Pinsent Masons and PwC Legal complete the lineup of contenders for the high-profile award.

The full shortlist for this year's awards has now been unveiled, covering 24 categories across private practice and in-house in the region.

The awards, hosted by Law.com International's Legal Week, will take place at the Ritz-Carlton in Dubai on April 2, 2020.

Last year, Eversheds was named International Law Firm of the year in the region, while Unilever was named Deal Team of the Year and Accenture Middle East took home the Legal Department of the Year (large team) prize.

Other winners last year included Baker McKenzie, which walked away with two awards: Corporate Team of the Year and Infrastructure and Energy Projects Team of the Year.

Other awards include: Most Promising Newcomer – Private Practice, Infrastructure and Energy Projects Team of the Year, Legal Department of the Year Small and Large Teams and Litigation Team of the Year.
