Goodwin Procter has continued its recent flurry of hires with the addition of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP)'s funds and investment management practice head, Justin Cornelius.

Cornelius joins Goodwin as a partner in its London-based real estate investment funds practice.

He joined legacy Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) as a partner in its investment management practice in 2012, and was appointed head of the practice after the firm merged with Bryan Cave in 2018. Prior to joining BLP, he was at legacy Nabarro for over 17 years.

Goodwin has recently ramped up its London and European hiring efforts, particularly in the private equity, tech and life sciences spaces.

Last month, the firm hired CMS London and U.K. head of private equity, James Grimwood. Prior to that, the firm also opened a Luxembourg office primarily focusing on large private investment funds.

At the end of 2019, the firm also opened a Cambridge base with a Taylor Wessing life sciences team hire.

Goodwin London co-chair Samantha Lake Coghlan said in a statement: "As the real estate funds market continues to grow in London and Europe, Justin's deep fund formation and transactional experience combined with the strengths of our existing team enable us to continue to provide best-in-class counsel to real estate investment managers and investors."

For BCLP, the exit is the latest in a string of recent departures, including tax and private client partner Paul Whitehead, head of private client litigation Rupert Ticehurst, structured finance partner Rachel Kelly and  planning partner Sarah Fitzpatrick.
