Dechert has continued to bolster its financial restructuring practice in London with another lawyer from Shearman & Sterling.

New partner Alastair Goldrein, who was a counsel at Shearman, joins Dechert's London office just two weeks after the firm hired partner Solomon Noh from Shearman. The two had worked closely together, according to a statement by Dechert announcing Goldrein's arrival.

Prior to being made a counsel at Shearman last year, he had been a senior associate at the firm for five years. He has also held associate roles at Latham & Watkins and Clifford Chance for over two years previously, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Allan Brilliant, co-chair of Dechert's financial restructuring group, said in a statement: "Alastair's deep knowledge of UK insolvency law and schemes of arrangement will enhance our financial restructuring offering to clients globally."

Dechert has made a push at boosting its London office in the past year, notably with the hire of several partners from Sidley Austin. Those included real estate finance partner Aparna Sehgal, finance partner John McGrath and litigation partner Simon Fawell.

In the 2018-19 financial year, Dechert increased its U.K. revenues by 10% to surpass £100 million, despite a 17% drop in operating profit.

The U.S. firm posted turnover of £104.2 million, up from £94.7 million in 2017, its financial accounts posted at Companies House show, though operating profits dropped to £39.8 million, down from £47.8 million the previous year.
