Nathalie Colin, Freshfields

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has hired a litigation team in Brussels from White & Case, including one partner.

The three-lawyer team, led by litigation partner Nathalie Colin, will join the Magic Circle firm in its Belgian practice. The team also includes two principal associates, Alexandre Hublet and Nino De Lathauwer.

The team will be based in the Freshfield's Brussels office in Bastion Tower and will work closely with Freshfields' disputes practices across continental Europe, the firm said in a statement.

Colin has over 25 years of experience in the litigation industry, and specializes in cross-border and domestic disputes, white-collar crime and regulatory investigations, according to Freshfields' statement.

"We are seeing more and more client demand to provide combined teams across continental Europe in areas such as follow-on damages, class actions, and investigations, Andrew Hart, global head of dispute resolution at Freshfields, said in the statement. "The addition of this top litigation team confirms our ability to offer this with a strength in depth across the spectrum that puts us right at the top of the field."

A spokesperson for White & Case confirmed that Colin is leaving the firm. "We wish her every success in her future endeavors," the spokesperson said.

The team hire is the latest international move by Freshfields. In October of last year, the firm hired a four-partner team from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in its New York office.
