Norton Rose Fulbright

Norton Rose Fulbright has hired restructuring and insolvency partner Alison Goldthorp from Addleshaw Goddard.

Goldthorp joins the firm's bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency team. She previously spent over 11 years as a partner at Addleshaws. Prior to that, she spent 11 years at Taylor Wessing, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Goldthorp provides advice to a range of clients on restructurings, managed exits, and formal insolvency appointments. She advised Big Four accountant KPMG when it acted as administrator of retail giant HMW last year.

Chris Brown, EMEA head of banking & finance at Norton Rose Fulbright, said in a statement: "Businesses in the UK and beyond are facing uncertainty from both Brexit-related and other factors, and with signs pointing to an economic downturn there is likely to be an increased need for debt restructuring and insolvency expertise.

"Alison's experience acting for insolvency practitioners and directors alike is a great addition to our growing EMEA restructuring and insolvency team."

The firm has made several hires recently.

Last month, it hired former Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner planning partner Sarah Fitzpatrick to head its planning practice. It also hired another restructuring partner from Simmons & Simmons in Germany.

Earlier this month, the firm also elected Peter Scott as its new managing partner for Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Addleshaw Goddard declined to comment.
