Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has hired the head of PwC's U.K. financial services regulatory practice to lead its Italian financial services regulatory practice.

Marco Boldini, who joins the firm as a partner, will split his time between the firm's London and Milan offices.

Prior to joining PwC, Boldini served as European regulatory director at asset management firm ETF Securities in London.

"We're excited to add regulatory capability to our team and to do so with a partner with Marco's reputation and experience with European, Italian and English law," Patrizio Messina, partner-in-charge of Orrick's European offices, said in a statement. "Marco will be an asset to our clients, and we're thrilled to welcome him to Orrick."

Boldini advises a range of clients on compliance matters before the U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Italian regulatory authorities. His practice also focuses on the fintech sector, particularly blockchain and cryptocurrency matters.

Boldini is the third hire from PwC by Orrick in London this year. In January, the firm launched a cyber and data privacy litigation and regulatory enforcement practice in London with the hire of Keily Blair, joined by James Lloyd. Both were previously at the Big Four firm.

The firm also added a white-collar defense partner from Clifford Chance in Milan last summer.
