Another European Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe partner has left the firm, adding to the flurry of movers that the U.S. firm has seen so far this year.

German heavyweight Noerr has hired anti-trust partner Till Steinvorth from Orrick, in the latest exit for the firm on the continent.

At Orrick, Steinvorth practiced in all aspects of competition, with a focus on antitrust damages claims. Cartel investigations are also a centerpiece of his practice, including several matterswhere he has represented multinational companies in cartel investigations before the European Commission or the German Federal Cartel Office.

Düsseldorf-based Steinvorth will leave Orrick in April, according to an Orrick spokesperson.

For Noerr, Steinvorth will strengthen the antitrust practice in Hamburg, though he will continue to be present in Düsseldorf, according to Fabian Badkte, who heads the antitrust practice.

"Together with Till, we intend to broaden our antitrust and competition law services even further and to promote cooperation between our various offices, especially in large-scale projects," Fabian Badtke, said in a statement. In Hamburg he will work with Karsten Metzlaff, an antitrust partner who is based in the northern German city.

His departure follows several in Paris for Orrick in 2020. Dentons recruited corporate partner Guillaume Kessler earlier in March, while White & Case bolstered its office in the French capital with Orrick duo projects partner Jean-Luc Champy and finance partner Amaury de Feydeau.

Orrick also announced this week it will be permanently closing its office in Hong Kong.

However, the firm made a significant addition to its London base on Friday, with the hire of a four-partner team to its energy practice from Watson Farley & Williams.
