K&L Gates has hired capital markets partner Harry Kingsley and two other lawyers from an Australian firm as it continues to build its corporate practice in Australia.

Kingsley, special counsel Kaveh Zegrati and lawyer Alex Garfinkel join the firm's Melbourne office from national firm Holding Redlich.

Kingsley focuses on capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity, and has particularly strong experience in the land transport, infrastructure and financial services sectors, K&L Gates said in a statement.

"Harry has invaluable experience which complements that of K&L Gates' existing teams and other recent hires in Australia, as we continue to offer our clients access to an expanded team of extremely well-credentialed lawyers," said Nick Nichola, K&L Gates' managing partner for Australia.

"We hear from our clients regularly that lawyers who can help them and their organizations respond to rapidly changing markets are critical to their success, and Harry's background positions him exceptionally well to understand clients' commercial needs and objectives."

Late last year, the firm hired Perth corporate partner James Clyneas well as financial services partners Kane Barnett and Paul Faure in Sydney and Melbourne.

Holding Redlich declined to comment on the departures.
