K&L Gates has added a partner to its corporate/mergers and acquisitions practice in Paris, the latest in a series of moves by the firm to bolster its team worldwide.

Raphaël Bloch joins K&L Gates Paris from Allen & Overy, where he spent five years as a senior associate. Before that, he practiced at Jones Day and Gide Loyrette Nouel and interned at Debevoise & Plimpton and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

"We are excited to welcome Raphaël to the Paris office," Louis Degos, managing partner of K&L Gates Paris, said in a statement. "His extensive international experience in corporate transactions serves as a valuable addition to both our firmwide practice and our growing Paris office."

Bloch's arrival follows the addition of corporate partners in four other K&L Gates offices this year: Harry Kingsley in Melbourne, Australia; Christopher Bellavia in Seattle; Jason Murray in Miami; and Steven Olenick in New York. The firm has also added partners and of counsel this year in its health care, environment, land and natural resources, asset management and investment funds, and government contracts practices in the United States.

K&L Gates has more than 1,800 lawyers across 44 offices on five continents. The Paris office numbers 21 lawyers, including eight partners, according to the firm's website.
