Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner's Paris office has added nine lawyers, including three partners, from the French law firm Franklin, the latest in a series of high-level hires since the beginning of the year.

The firm has hired antitrust and competition partner Julie Catala Marty along with a team of one counsel and two associates. The group arrival grants BCLP a Paris antitrust and competition practice.

They are joined in the move by employment and labor partner duo Claire Fougea and Marion Brière-Ségala, along with three associates. Their arrival boosts the BCLP Paris employment and labor offering to eight lawyers.

Thirty-six lawyers have joined BCLP Paris from Franklin in the past four months, bringing the total number of lawyers in the office to 70, including 15 partners, BCLP said in a statement.

"The new arrivals – Julie, Claire and Marion, like our other recent additions – will contribute to our goal of significantly strengthening the firm's presence in France and in Europe," Rémy Blain, managing partner of the Paris office, said in a statement.

Marty joined Franklin as a partner in 2015 from Bird & Bird, where she practiced for four years. She started her career at Clifford Chance and practiced briefly at Howrey before that firm's dissolution in 2011.

Fougea and Brière-Ségala have practiced together at Franklin since 2009. Fougea, who joined Franklin as a partner, previously practiced at Norton Rose Fulbright for 10 years.

Blain added that "while we celebrate the additions of our new colleagues, we are mindful of the challenging times all of us face during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are grateful to all the health care workers and officials who are on the front lines of this formidable opponent."
