Reed Smith has hired a corporate partner to its Paris base, in the latest European addition for the firm.

Caroline Ledoux has joined Reed Smith as the seventh corporate partner hire in Europe and the Middle East this year, the firm said Friday in a statement.

Ledoux, an M&A and restructuring specialist, arrives from K&L Gates, where she has been a partner since 2014. Prior to that she served as counsel in the Paris office of Allen & Overy.

"I am delighted to be joining Reed Smith which is a fantastic global firm with a standout reputation and an increasingly strong presence across Europe," Ledoux said in a statement.

A substantial portion of Ledoux's practice over the years has been cross-border, primarily involving transactions across Europe, and with the United States and Canada, and in particular Québec.

"Caroline is a fantastic addition to the group and we are delighted to have her on board," Delphine Currie, co-chair of Reed Smith's global corporate group, said in a statement. Currie cited Ledoux's "broad corporate M&A experience and additional focus on real estate, infrastructure and financial institutions and cross-border work."

Reed Smith's growth spurt in Europe this year has seen the opening of a new office in Brussels, with five competition, regulatory and trade partners and one counsel and two associates from rival firms in January.

The firm also hired Deutsche Bank's managing director of legal, corporate and investment banking, Joe Kohler, to its London office in the same month.
