Australian firm MinterEllison has appointed Shaun Clyne as a new partner in its transaction solutions team.

Clyne, who joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, has 25 years' experience and has advised on public and private mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and secondary capital raisings, as well as on matters relating to foreign investment.

"His impressive experience, working in signature deals across the ASX200, will enhance the capabilities of our Transaction Solutions team and provide focus in key areas of growth and opportunity in the current environment," Stuart Johnson, MinterEllison managing partner, capital markets corporate, said in a statement.

"In particular, Shaun's experience in technology, telecommunication and health will prove vital as the economy starts to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic."

Clyne has also acted on many hostile and friendly takeover transactions and has represented clients in numerous proceedings before the Takeovers Panel.

Norton Rose declined to comment on Clyne's departure.
