Carsten Beisheim, a member of Bird & Bird's global compliance and investigations steering committee, has left the firm to join Werhahn KG as general counsel.

Beisheim focused on corporate governance, compliance and sustainability in Bird & Bird's Düsseldorf office.

"I have an in-house background and it was a very interesting offer," Beisheim said of his reasons for the change.

Beisheim joined Bird & Bird just over three years ago. Before that, he spent 10 years in-house, most recently as head of group legal and compliance, general counsel and chief compliance officer at Wuestenrot & Wuerttembergische, a financial services group based in Stuttgart, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Werhahn, headquartered in Neuss, near Düsseldorf, is a family-owned conglomerate that houses construction materials, consumer goods and finance units and saw sales of €3.5 billion ($3.8 billion) in the fiscal year 2018.
