Global law firm DWF has hired employment partner George Haros and a team of six lawyers from local firm Macpherson Kelley, its second recent team hire from the firm.

Haros joins the national employment, safety and regulatory practice headed by Matthew Smith and advises clients in restraints of trade disputes, bullying and discrimination, industrial relations and equal opportunity matters, DWF said in a statement.

"George offers industry-specific knowledge in various sectors including sporting, professional services, manufacturing and hospitality. In addition to employment law, he has extensive experience in dispute resolution, property and commercial law matters and is sought after for his negotiation skills," the firm said.

DWF has continued to expand this year. In April, it hired a data protection specialist in the United Kingdom, and in March it hired a team of three information technology and telecommunications lawyers in Australia—also from mid-tier firm Macpherson Kelley.

But in April the U.K.-listed firm also cut employees and ended its trainee program at DWF-RCD, the firm it established in Spain after acquiring Rousaud Costas Duran at the end of 2019.
