McDermott Will & Emery has hired two partners from U.S. rival Willkie Farr & Gallagher to boost its London finance offering.

Mark Fine and Aymen Mahmoud are set to join McDermott after spending nearly four years apiece at Willkie, according to one person at McDermott.

Fine joined Willkie in 2016 from Bain Capital Credit where he had been the European general counsel for over two years, prior to which he had been a partner at Kirkland & Ellis for five years.

Mahmoud joined Willkie in 2016 from the London office of Jones Day, and was promoted to the Willkie partnership last year.

The hires are part of a concerted push in expansion in London for McDermott. It recruited Reed Smith finance partner Ranajoy Basu last month, and in October brought on board global private equity head at Hogan Lovells, Tom Whelan.

McDermott recently posted its latest financial results, which showed that the firm had achieved a second year of double-digit revenue growth, having increased global revenues by 11% increase to hit $1.17 billion in 2019.
