Curtis, Mallet-Prevost & Mosle has added two new corporate partners to its Milan office.

International corporate specialist Daniela Della Rosa joins after six years at local firm DDR, which she co-founded, according to LinkedIn. Her experience includes fashion law and advising private equity funds and international premium brands on M&A and commercial transactions.

Giovanni Sagramoso, whose expertise includes M&A transactions and securities litigation, has joined the U.S. firm after nine months at Italian firm Ughi e Nunziante.

The hires follow the firm losing four partners to Squire Patton Boggs when the U.S. rival opened its first Italian base in Milan earlier this year.

According to Curtis' website, the hires bring the Milan base to six partners, eight counsel, five associates and one consultant.

In a statement, chairman of Curtis Mallet's Italian practice, Alfonso DeMarco, said: "We extend a warm welcome to our new colleagues, who have already integrated their practices. This will fortify our position as a leading international firm in Italy."

Italy has been one of the nations worst affected by COVID-19 and the hires come as the legal market begins to reopen offices after a slowdown in work.

Italian lawyers told Law.com International's U.K. arm last month that smaller firms and sole practitioners will be particularly vulnerable to the seismic economic shocks stemming from the pandemic.
