Former Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer commercial disputes partner Tom Snelling has joined specialist litigation and arbitration law firm, Signature Litigation.
The move follows Snelling's exit from Freshfields after an internal investigation in March. At the time, a person close to the situation said that the investigation related to an alleged incident of misconduct.
Snelling had been a partner at the Magic Circle firm for ten years after being promoted to the firm's partnership in 2010.
His exit was the third departure for Freshfields in the space of six months, following that of former restructuring and insolvency partner Ryan Beckwith and white collar partner Nicholas Williams.
Snelling joins Signature Litigation as partner in its London office.
In a statement, Snelling said: "I am delighted to be joining the team at Signature Litigation. Specialist disputes law firms, and specifically Signature, have a unique presence in the market, and the firm's conflict-free platform is a highly compelling and exciting proposition"
However, Signature was not able to comment regarding Snelling's departure from Freshfields due to confidentiality.
Last year, Freshfields voted in a new conduct committee and protocol, whereby partners could incur automatic fines of up to 20% of their profit share for bad behaviour.
