U.K.-headquartered firm Bird & Bird has hired a three-person team from PwC in Warsaw to assist its investigations unit.

The team includes PwC Warsaw's head of forensic services Wojciech Czyżewski, head of forensic technology Jakub Kur, and Marcin Miazga, digital and e-discovery services manager, according to a statement by Bird & Bird.

The team will assist Bird & Bird on matters connected to internal and regulatory investigations, e-discovery and forensic data analytics, background checks, fraud prevention and post-fraud support, as well as M&A and disputes.

They will also help the firm to conduct complex investigations using advanced forensic technology, conduct post-event evaluations and create and implement guidelines, procedures and other preventive tools.

Evelyn Tjon-En-Fa, Bird & Bird's international dispute resolution co-head, said in the statement: "Forensic Services perfectly complement our cross-practice and cross-sector investigations team of practitioners focussed on white collar crime, civil fraud, and competition and regulatory investigations.

"Data forensics is a key element to any investigation and we truly have a competitive advantage with this new in-house team."

These are the latest senior exitsfrom PwC to a private practice law firm. Last month, in Germany several partners left PwC Legal's public sector team following a change of strategy at the Big Four firm, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
