The head of cybersecurity at Clifford Chance has left the firm and the legal sector to join a fashion label as its new information security lead.

Spencer Scott, who has been at Clifford Chance for nearly half a decade according to his LinkedIn profile, started at British fashion retailer AllSaints in May. There he will be head of department for information security, the retailer confirmed.

Founded in the 1990s, AllSaints, which takes its name after a road in Notting Hill, operates over 260 stores worldwide with a particular focus on the U.S. and U.K. fashion markets.

Scott previously acted as a senior cybersecurity specialist at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for nearly two years.

At Clifford Chance, he led on matters including threat and vulnerability management, cybersecurity incident responses and threat intelligence. Confirming Scott's departure, a Clifford Chance spokesperson added that Scott reported to the firm's global director of IT and security, Chris Leather. The firm declined to comment on Scott's replacement.

Scott is not the first technology specialist to exit the legal sector in the past few months. In November, the co-head of innovation and former IT director at Eversheds Sutherland, Andrew McManus, left to join private equity house Bridgepoint as head of technology.

Earlier in the year, the head of innovation at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Isabel Parker, also announced she was leaving the firm.
