Osborne Clarke partner Jeffrey Chang is set to leave the firm to start a general counsel role at a technology company.

Chang is joining London-based professional services and technology firm Davies as its first-ever general counsel, Davies said in a statement.

The company has a global team with over 3,700 professionals operating across the U.K., Ireland, the U.S., Canada, and Bermuda, according to its website.

Chang qualified at Osborne Clarke in 2002 and was promoted to partner in 2016. He handles M&A transactions with a particular focus on the tech, media and automotive sectors.

In a statement, Chang said: "I am delighted to be joining the Davies family and having worked with them on a number of interesting projects over the last few years, it seemed a natural fit and an exciting opportunity to pursue.

"I very much look forward to working alongside and supporting the Executive Leadership Team during and beyond this next phase of growth."

He joins Davies from July 1.

Greg Leyshon, Osborne Clarke partner and head of the business transaction practice group, said : "We would like to thank Jeff for his contribution to the success of our corporate practice, the Reading office and the wider U.K. business.

"He trained and qualified at Osborne Clarke and he has since advised on some fantastic deals for some very happy clients. Jeff has been a great friend, colleague and partner to many at Osborne Clarke, including me, and we are very sad to see him leave. Having said that, he is joining a great company in Davies Group and we will all enjoy continuing to work with (or for!) Jeff as a valued client."
