Slaughter and May has unveiled the second cohort of its flagship legal technology incubation programme Collaborate, after the scheme was delayed due to COVID-19 disruption.
Seven firms have been selected to join the programme, which this year will take place virtually. The incubator was established last year by the firm.
Start-ups enrolled in the latest cohort include contract analyser Della AI; deal management platform thedocyard; and dispute resolution platform Immediation.
As part of the programme, the legal tech firms will be provided with access to Slaughters' tech sandbox; networking opportunities via the firm's advisory panel, and access to legal advice from Slaughter and May.
Firms will be assigned two mentors, one lawyer and one person from the firm's knowledge and innovation practice.
A new development for the second cohort will see the start-ups gain access to and advice from venture capital funds on how to secure funding and grow their businesses.
In a statement, Slaughters real estate head Jane Edwarde said: "The COVID-19 crisis has challenged businesses of all sizes, but it's an especially difficult time for start-up companies.
"Through supporting these seven innovative legal technology providers, we are reaffirming our commitment to the legal tech and start-up community. We have a particularly strong cohort for Collaborate 2020, representing a diverse range of products across the legal tech market."
