Dentons has bolstered its energy and infrastructure practice in Germany by hiring a four-lawyer team from Baker McKenzie, the firm announced Thursday.
Headed by partners Thomas Dörmer and Tim Heitling, the team joins Dentons in Berlin, according to a statement by the firm.
The team, which recently advised on projects including offshore wind farms and fiber network providers, also includes associate Annekathrin Markert and counsel Daniel Neudecker, who is slated to join in August.
Thomas Schubert, Dentons head of Energy in Germany, said in the statement: "We look forward to further strengthening our client offering in terms of major projects and transactions in the energy and infrastructure sector with the arrival of our new colleagues.
The team hire brings Dentons' total number of energy partners in Germany to 15, according to the firm's website.
"The new team's experience in legally challenging infrastructure projects, such as broadband expansion, will complement the capabilities of our existing team,"
Before joining Bakers, both Heitling and Dörmer had stints at Taylor Wessing and Linklaters, where they were partners in the firm's Berlin office.
Dörmer advises on cross-border transactions and joint ventures in regulated industries, in particular in the energy and infrastructure sectors, while Heitling advises companies, project sponsors, banks and financial investors on M&A, joint ventures, projects and financing issues and on regulatory matters such as unbundling rules, network access and network charges.
Earlier this month, partner Nicholas George joined the the firm's energy and infrastructure practice in Paris.
