Clyde & Co has hired an HFW disputes partner to its global projects and construction practice in Dubai.

With 13 years' regional experience, Beau McClaren joins from HFW in Dubai, where he was a partner in the Middle East construction disputes team. He earlier spent 10 years as a senior associate at Dentons in Dubai, according to his LinkedIn profile.

"Beau's strong regional experience and his seniority in the market will be a key addition to the firm and our global projects and construction group," said Michael Grose, partner and head of Clydes' projects & construction for the Middle East. 

"Bringing him on board forms part of our long-term strategy to further expand our leading construction practice in the Middle East and bring strategic support to our clients, as the wider region remains committed to investing in large-scale development projects and infrastructure."

The firm has advised on a number of major regional projects, including Dubai International Airport, Burj Khalifa, Burj al Arab, and Meydan Racecourse, all in the UAE, Qatar's Doha Airport and Doha Metro, and Riyadh Airport and the Mecca Metro, both in Saudi Arabia.

Clyde & Co boasts over 45 partners and 400 staff, based full-time in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE, Doha in Qatar, and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. 

The firm has landed several key mandates in the region in recent months. In June, the firm advised the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Authority on a new data protection legislation designed to align the area's data laws with those in Europe and the U.S.
