DWF is to cut between 15 to 18 U.K.-based support staff roles as part of its firmwide cost-cutting drive, a person close to the firm said on Thursday.

The consultation regarding the cuts was launched in early June and will affect roles across the firm's document production and administration units, the person said, adding that fee-earners would not be directly impacted by the ongoing consultation.

A spokesperson for the firm said in a statement: "We have begun a consultation process with groups of colleagues in central services. We will not be able to make any further comments at this stage."

This latest headcount trim means the firm is shedding close to 80 staff in total as part of a cost-cutting drive launched earlier in July, when around 60 members of staff and two offices in Singapore and Brussels were axed.

Earlier on Thursday, the firm said that it expects its cost-cutting drive to achieve savings of around £15 million by the end of the 2021 financial year.

It also announced that it is to drop its flexible resourcing service known as 'DWF Resource', which is a part of the firm's Connected Services division. A person close to the matter said the three people working for DWF Resource were to leave the firm as part of the wider cull.
